Gatwick Bike Box is owned and operated by Will Morgan, a completely average cyclist.
I've been going on cycling holidays since 2016, tackling sportives such as La Marmotte, or just smashing new roads with friends abroad.
After a couple of journeys trying out bike bags or cheaper (read: low quality) boxes, I realised it's not worth spending all the hours on the turbo or toiling over the handlebars in the pouring rain to transport your road machine in a softshell bag.
I even tried renting a few times but found that the costs quickly exceeded box rental and airport fees, and I've witnessed horror stories with no-shows from rental companies, and rental bikes with saddle or component issues.
I didn't fancy taking a week of annual leave while risking disappointment due to a dodgy rental, or a bent rear mech.
So I figured it made sense to invest in a solid box I'd never need to worry about transporting bikes in again.
However, I'm not a pro, and it doesn't see all that much travel! Not everyone has space for a bike box sitting in their garage - or elsewhere...
So I make it available for other riders looking to compete in sportives or races abroad, or just looking to explore new lanes under the sun.
I appreciate the preparation needed to travel on a sporting holiday, which is why I selected a box to rent out which is easy to pack. I'm also able to offer flexible collection or delivery in the south east out of office hours.
